The Chemical Society of Washington has partnered with Tomorrow’s Women in Science and Technology (TWIST) to participate in this year’s Techstravaganza! The event will take place on Saturday, April 11th, from 9am-5pm! Techstravaganza is an event to engage elementary and middle school students in STEM activities. It will be held at Holmes Middle School (6525 Montrose St, Alexandria, VA 22312).
We need some excited CSW volunteers to do various chemistry demos, in the area of environmental and forensic chemistry. The day will broken up into three sessions, 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm and 2pm-5pm. The times are flexible (and you can sign up for as many as you want!). All material will be provided, all you need to do is show up and be excited about science!
If you think you can help out please send Fatima Sequeira ([email protected]) an email! Activities like this are a great way to give back to the community. Please volunteer and help us make chemistry fun for these kids!
