This year is Project SEED’s 50th anniversary, and it is off to a great start! 11 students from all over the DC area were accepted into the program, and after orientation on June 16, they got to work in labs at the Library of Congress, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the University of Maryland (College Park and Baltimore County), American University, the George Washington University, and Georgetown University.
On July 14, a Career Panel event was held, where representatives from an array of industries discussed various career paths with the SEED Fellows. This event was followed by a Scientific Presentation Workshop on August 11, where CSW volunteers discussed with the Fellows how to present their research well in both oral and poster format. The end of the event allowed for Fellows to work 1 on 1 with volunteers to discuss their research and plan their research presentations.
The summer will be capped off on August 25 with the SEED Research Symposium. All are welcome to attend, and should RSVP by email ([email protected]) by August 24.
